For independent hotels, boutiques & B&Bs

Your website goes in. A beautiful guest guide comes out.

Paste your hotel’s web address and Porter reads it the way a guest would — lifting your colours, type and photography, then writing your whole guide for you: Wi-Fi, check-in, breakfast times, the best table in the village. Live at its own link in about sixty seconds.

How it works

Live before the kettle’s boiled

Three steps, no IT project, nobody from “implementation” on the phone. If you can paste a link, you’re overqualified.

Paste your website

Give Porter the web address you already have. It reads your site like a guest would — and lifts your colours, fonts, logo and photography automatically. No brand brief, no asset folder.

About 10 seconds

Porter writes your guide

The essentials, your story, the highlights, local recommendations chosen through Google Places, and how to get there — drafted in full, ready for you to fine-tune line by line.

About 50 seconds

Print the QR

Your guide goes live at yourhotel.tryporter.co.uk — or your own domain. Put the QR at the front desk and by every kettle. That, in its entirety, is the rollout.

Every answer, before anyone rings the desk

The Guide is the heart of Porter: a fast, branded page that carries your whole welcome — the Wi-Fi code, the parking, the story of the building, and the places you’d actually send a friend. It retires the laminated binder for good.

  • Your brand, lifted automatically — colours, type, logo and photography from the website you already have
  • Local recommendations via Google Places — your neighbourhood, properly curated, with ratings and distances
  • The essentials, answered once — Wi-Fi, check-in, breakfast, taxis — instead of forty times a week at the desk
  • Your own address — yourhotel.tryporter.co.uk included free, or connect your own domain
  • QR codes ready to print — front desk, bedside folder, key wallet, confirmation email

No app to download. No account to create. Guests scan, read, and settle in.

Room 12 would like champagne

Shop turns the QR by the kettle into quiet, polite revenue. Guests order late checkout, breakfast in bed or a bottle on arrival from their own phone — the room number attaches itself, the card payment goes through Stripe, and the order lands at your desk before they’ve put the phone down.

  • Room numbers attach themselves — each room’s QR carries its number, so there’s never a “which room are you in?”
  • Card payments through Stripe — settled to your account, with a clean record of every order
  • A live orders dashboard — for the front desk, the kitchen, or your back pocket
  • Sell pre-arrival too — champagne, early check-in and add-ons sold before the taxi’s even booked
  • No guest accounts, ever — a card and thirty seconds is all it asks of them
  • 0% commission — what you sell is yours; only the standard card-processing fee applies

Built for independents

No invented numbers. Just things we’ll put in writing

You won’t find made-up statistics or stock-photo testimonials here. You’ll find the promises we actually keep.

The House Promises

Porter · est. for the independents

No app to download. Your guide opens in the browser, from a QR code or a link — on any phone a guest owns.

No IT project. Nothing to install, no API to wire up, nobody called an “implementation consultant”. Paste a link; that’s the integration.

Guests never make accounts. And you keep the guest relationship — Porter is your stationery, not a marketplace standing between you.

Your brand, not ours. Your colours, your type, your domain. Porter stays backstage where good staff belong.

Free means free. The Guide is not a trial with a clock on it. No card, no caps on guest views, no surprise email in month three.

Leave whenever you like. Shop is month-to-month. Cancel in two clicks and your free guide stays live, exactly as it was.

Pricing

Two prices. One of them is nothing

Per property, not per room. No commission on your sales, no setup fees, no contracts.

Questions

Asked at the front desk

How long does it really take to set up?

About sixty seconds for Porter to read your website and build the first draft of your guide — brand, colours, photography and all. Most hotels review it, tweak a few details and go live the same morning. There is no onboarding call, no import spreadsheet and no designer involved.

Is the Guide genuinely free, forever?

Yes. The Guide is free forever — not a trial with a clock on it. Unlimited guest views, QR codes, your own web address and updates whenever you like. You only ever pay if you choose to add Shop, which is £59 a month after a 14-day free trial.

Do my guests have to download an app or create an account?

Never. Your guide is a fast, mobile-first web page. Guests scan a QR code or tap a link and it opens straight in their browser — no app store, no sign-up, no password. The same is true for Shop: they order and pay without ever creating an account.

Will it look like my hotel, or like Porter?

Like your hotel. Porter lifts your colours, fonts, logo and photography from the website you already have, and you can fine-tune every detail before going live. Guests see your brand front and centre — Porter stays backstage.

Where does my guide live?

At its own address: yourhotel.tryporter.co.uk is included free, or you can connect your own domain — something like guide.yourhotel.com — so the guide feels like a natural part of your website.

How do guests pay in the Shop?

By card, securely through Stripe, in about thirty seconds. When a guest scans the QR in their room, the room number is attached to the order automatically — no “which room are you in?” — and the order appears instantly on your live dashboard for the front desk or kitchen to fulfil.

Do you take commission on what I sell?

No. Porter takes 0% commission on your Shop sales — what you sell is yours. The only deduction is the standard card-processing fee from the payment provider, which applies to any card payment anywhere and which we never add to.

Does Porter replace my PMS or booking engine?

No — and it doesn’t try to. Porter sits quietly alongside your existing PMS, booking engine and website. There is nothing to install, no API to wire up and no integration project. It is a link and a QR code; any member of your team can run it.

What happens if I cancel Shop?

Shop is month-to-month with no contract. Cancel whenever you like: your storefront switches off, and your free Guide stays live exactly as it was. Nothing to uninstall, nothing to unwind.

Who owns the guest data — and what about GDPR?

You do. Order details and guest information belong to your hotel, are processed in the UK/EU, are exportable at any time and are never sold or used to market to your guests. You keep the guest relationship — that is rather the point.

Sixty seconds from now, your hotel has a guide
